Almudhaibai Charity
It is a charity that is obligatory at the end of Ramadan, and it is an expression of gratitude to God for the blessing of fasting and an atonement for any shortcomings in it. It also aims to bring joy to the poor on the day of Eid.
Its ruling and timing:
✔ Ruling: Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory for every Muslim who has more than what they need on the day of Eid.
✔ Time: It is given before the Eid al-Fitr prayer, and it is permissible to give it a day or two before Eid.
Its quantity and type:
🔹 The amount of Zakat al-Fitr is one Sa' of food (approximately 2.048 kg of rice) and is given from the staple food of the people of the country, such as dates, rice, wheat, or others.
🔹 It is permissible to give it in cash if it is more beneficial for the poor.
The Rationale of Zakat al-Fitr:
✅ Purifying the fasting person from idle talk and obscenity in Ramadan.
✅ Providing for the poor on the day of Eid, as the Prophet said: "Make them self-sufficient on this day."
✅ Enhancing social solidarity among community members.
